“Working Mom” vs. “Stay at Home Mom”… Who carries it best?

In my opinion, there is no such a thing as “Stay at Home” or “Working Mom.” Yes! It is true… We are all women, just trying to do our best, bearing the very important role of being a MOM.

Unfortunately, I feel a lot of time and energy has been wasted trying to determine who carries the bag the best. We are all missing the point. If you stay at home or if you go to work, it does not make you a better or worse mom – end of story. It is called having personal goals, individual necessities… It is called: reality and life.

I hear from many amazing professional women how hard is to sacrifice time with their children to pursue their dreams and/or just to pay the bills… These women come home after very long days to check homework, get ready for dinner, go grocery shopping, do laundry… you name it, it isn’t easy.

On the other hand, we have the tireless stay at home moms. Those who have the vital role of making things run smoothly at school, spending hours volunteering in the lunch room, the ones that take care of helping at all the school events… Of course, there is time for the gym and an occasional coffee with friends during “work hours”. However, let us not forget these ladies also have to run all the house duties as well.

Coming from someone who has a high appreciation for both sides and has spent time in each camp, they are both challenging. The one fact that holds true about raising a child: it is not the amount of time you spend with your kid, but the quality of it.

Please, let’s all put an end to the age old debate as to who does a better job or who has it harder. At the end of the day, we are all in charge of making the decisions that better fit our goals and our family lifestyle.

Always do your BEST… be PROUD of what you do… BE HAPPY and leave any guilt aside… share with your kids the JOY that comes with your personal achievements as a WOMAN!
