Bollywood Stars took over Fort Lauderdale!
This past Saturday an amazing Bollywood party took place at my kids school in Fort Lauderdale… It was a fantastic display of unlimited glamour and Indian fashion in support of our annual fundraiser.
The event represented a great opportunity for me to deep dive into Indian culture and learn about their fashion trends and all the possible outfit choices!
My transformation started early on Saturday… Indian hair style and makeup can be very elaborate and take time. It took several people to get the look going, you will also definitely need to budget a few extra minutes for the jewelry placement!
For this occasion I selected, with the help of Shital from Saris and Things, a gorgeous designer gold lehenga, the latest rage in high fashion Bollywood.
The accessories and outfit details were one of the things that I enjoyed the most, so many choices and bright colors to pick from! With respect to the accessories this is definitely one of those few times that I disagree with my advice “less is more”!
After almost 3 hours at the salon it was time to go to the reception… What an amazing experience the organizers pulled together, first class on all fronts! The atmosphere was breathtaking, they used many rich colors, lights and Indian furniture to transport all the guests to a magical Bollywood night.
We were proud sponsors of the henna station for those who want to take the experience to the next level…
Last but not least, here are some of the stunning outfits the guests displayed… I have to say I totally fell in love with the texture, details and uniqueness of every outfit… Saris, Lehengas, Anarkalis were the most popular choices.
